FAQ

Q: Do you have a baby shampoo in your range? I can’t see one.  Thank you

Sandy M

A: Hi Sandy,

Our multi-purpose Gentle Baby Wash is formulated for the most delicate of skin.  It is ideal for cleansing not only baby’s body, but is also an excellent  baby shampoo.

Simply work a small amount between your hands to create a creamy lather and apply directly to baby's hair and scalp.  As it contains no harsh detergents it is very low foaming, yet cleanses thoroughly. Remember to rinse gently.

In fact, miniOrganics Gentle Baby Wash makes a great shampoo for all young children, and anyone in the family who suffers from a sensitive, dry or itchy scalp.

Thanks

Sally

Q: I am expecting my second child in about 6 weeks and I plan to breastfeed again even though last time I suffered from really painful cracked nipples.  I see you have a Nipple Balm in your range.  Can you please tell me more?  Is it safe? Do I need to remove it before I breastfeed? Thanks Julie

A: Julie,

Every mum who has ever breastfed sympathises,  I’m sure.  It can be so painful!  So many mothers, when they see this product say “I wish it had been around when I had my baby!

Our Soothing Nipple Balm is a rich emollient blend of the finest certified organic Shea and Cocoa Butters, Olive and Evening Primrose Oil.  It has an incredibly low melting point so it is super-easy to apply to tender dry cracked nipples and is enriched with Vitamin E and Calendula, both known for their excellent anti-inflammatory and healing properties.

This product is certified to food grade standards and so safe there is no need to remove it prior to feeding. We always recommend you consult your health professional for advice if you do experience any problems with feeding.

Enjoy your new baby!

Sally

miniOrganics Soothing Nipple Balm was awarded the Silver Medal – Best Organic Product at The  Organic Expo - 2009.

Q. My son has dreadful cradle cap. Do you have any suggestions for treating this.  I have tried just about everything and nothing seems to work. Lisa

Our Superfine Jojoba is just perfect for this.  It is the closest oil in nature to the skin’s own sebum  and it works wonders.  Simply massage a few drops into your little one’s scalp, leave for 15 minutes or so (the longer the better) , then gently brush away the flakes with a soft baby brush.  As Jojoba does not clog the pores it is quite safe to leave for longer or you can follow with a super gentle organic shampoo , like our  Baby wash to cleanse baby’s scalp and hair.

It is important to avoid mineral based oils and harsh shampoos at all costs. They will only make the problem  worse.

What do you recommend for baby massage?

Our certified organic  Superfine Jojoba is the perfect massage oil for baby.  It has a light, silky feel so you only need use a few drops.  It is super gentle  and it is compatible with even the most delicate of newborn skin, and as it is so pure, especially suitable for premature babies

The incredible benefit of massage and touch therapy in infants and pre-term babies is well documented. Massage is an excellent way to help you bond with your baby.

Most babies love to be massaged, particularly after bath time.  It not only helps to settle baby, but can help improve sleep patterns, aid in digestion, soothe colic, reflux and constipation, and reduce stress levels in both mother and child.

Do you have any nut oils in your range?

Absolutely not as many parents have very real concerns over nut allergies.

When we first began formulating the range, we decided that  miniOrganics would be a brand free of all nut oils, giving parents of allergy prone children greater peace of mind.

What is your favourite product?

That is a hard one to answer.  They are all great.. Our Enriched Moisturiser and Nourishing Body Oil become firm favourites of everyone who tries them. Some of our biggest fans are not even mums.  But if I had to chose one our Superfine Jojoba would have to be at the top of the list.. It is the most versatile amazing product ever and   great for just about anything… the perfect moisturiser, the most amazing eyemake up remover, a great nail and hair treatment, ideal for soothing shaving rash and ingrown hairs, and acne prone skin in teenagers.. seriously everybody need a bottle in their bathroom cabinet!

I am intrigued.. why do you use Koalas in your logo?

That’s simple.  The rest of the world holds Australian organic products in very high regard. We very proud of our Australian heritage and what could be more Australian than Koalas!

What exactly is your Calming and Hydrating Mist and what is it used for?

We often refer to our mist as “toner for babies”.  It is actually a pure certified organic hydrosol, and is harvested during the distillation of the essential oils of the chamomile daisy.  As such it is the very essence of a plant known for its excellent anti-inflammatory and wound healing properties.

miniOrganics Calming and Hydrating Mist  is ideal for use at every nappy (diaper ) change as it helps to effectively soothe, cleanse and freshen baby’s delicate nappy area.

It is also an integral part of our 3 Step Prescription for helping to soothe dry itchy eczema-like skin conditions  and great for all delicate and allergy prone complexions. It is perfect for soothing any areas of redness and refreshing baby’s skin and for cleansing grubby faces and fingers when you are on the go.

While chamomile is particularly beneficial for sensitive skin it has also been known to help alleviate stress and anxiety.  A cold compress of Roman Chamomile may even be used to provide natural relief from migraine, and a spritz or two has even been known to calm a cranky baby!
